First Responders Brush Up on Safety Skills

Local first responders gathered on Saturday to brush up on their emergency response skills.

Rescue Day 2 was held at Metro Ambulance in Meridian. It was the second of two training sessions held each year. The first is in April and the second in September.

Officials say it is important for emergency responders to get as much hands-on experience as possible in order to be prepared for any type of situation they may be called to.

A cookout was also held during the training exercises.
