Four Charged with Murder in Pearl River Community

Choctaw, Miss. Officials in Choctaw, Miss., say four people were arrested in the death of Jonas Joe, who was found in a road in the Pearl River community Aug. 15. He had been stabbed multiple times.

Officials with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians say three adults and one minor are charged with murder in his death.

The adults are: 23-year-old Tommy Cotton, III; 19-year-old James Bell, Jr.; and 20-year-old Davian Wilson.

The Choctaw Police Department and the FBI continue to investigate to determine if this incident is related to a shooting June 1, also in the Pearl River community.

Ruben Cruz, 23, was charged in the shooting of Nathan Bell, 26.

Cruz is charged with aggravated battery and is being held in the Choctaw Detention Facility without bond.

Bell is recovering at a local hospital.
