A pipeline fuel leak was discovered Thursday afternoon on board NAS Meridian.
It happened about 3:30 p.m. in the McCain Pipeline that delivers Aviation grade fuel to the bulk storage tanks on base. The company reported the leak to base officials.
Officials said the 4-inch pipe used to transfer the fuel has been secured.
The fuel leak on board NAS Meridian was later contained.
NAS responders placed boom on station, while Lauderdale Emergency Management placed boom at the bridge on Beaver Pond Road and near Hwy 45 in Lauderdale.
U.S. Environmental Services' advance team arrived from Jackson to repair the pipe.
There have been no injuries as a result of this spill.
