A major spike in gas prices has happened over the last week. It's one of the largest in recent memory.
Prices jumped almost 18 cents per gallon during the last seven days in Mississippi, and 37 cents per gallon over the last month.
Prices are now about eight cents higher than they were this time last year, according to GasBuddy.com.
Experts say they don't see an end soon in the climb. The price has hit and exceeded $4.00 per gallon in some parts of the U.S.
The average price in Mississippi is at $3.59 per gallon. In Alabama, the average is $3.60. The national average is currently $3.69 a gallon.
