Two inmates were sentenced in federal court in Jackson for their roles in a Mississippi prison uprising.
Margarito Munoz-Astello, 37, originally of Tamaulipas, Mexico, was sentenced to 84 months in prison, and Raybel Granillo, 29, originally of Juarez, Mexico, was sentenced to 57 months in prison for rioting at the Adams County Correctional facility May 20, 2012.
Both inmates were also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,382,313.00.
Another inmate, Ian Reid, 37, of Jamaica, also appeared in federal court June 12 to enter a guilty plea to rioting in a federal prison facility. He will be sentenced Sept. 11, 2014, and faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
