Habitat Seeing Lots of College Volunteers

By  |

College students are volunteering their time to work on a local Habitat for Humanity house.

Right now, 21 college students from Kansas are working on a house on 33rd Avenue in Meridian. Churches are also helping with the project, which started back in the fall. Habitat Executive Director Fonda Rush says winter break and spring break both bring a lot of volunteers.

"And every week during March, we have at least two universities coming around," Rush says. "We even have University of Washington flying in to work with us this spring."

Rush says work on the current project is almost finished.
