The attorney for fired Meridian police captain, Dean Harper, says he is preparing an appeal in Harper's recent court case.
Harper was found guilty last week of impersonating a Meridian police officer in a case from last year, after he was let go by the department.
He called dispatch to ask a question while working as a campus police officer for Mississippi State University, using his MPD call sign.
Harper's attorney, Bill Ready, Jr., maintains it was a simple mistake and the charges should have been dismissed.
