Lauderdale County, Miss.
Visitors to the Mississippi Welcome Center on Interstate 20/59 got a welcome treat Monday morning.
Students from Toomsuba Head Start have been studying black history as part of Black History Month. They presented what they have learned at the Lauderdale County Welcome Center.
Each student portrayed an inspirational African American who made an impact on history.
"It's just a part of our history that we need to know," said Beverly Brown, a teacher at Toomsuba Head Start. "We need to know all about our black history, and our children enjoy doing Black History Week. "
Toomsuba Head Start has been doing this for several years and organizers say they will continue to do this for many years to come.
