A health fair will be held in Meridian next week to help residents who want to sign up for a plan through the Affordable Care Act, which is also known as ACA. That health fair is being sponsored by Greater Meridian Health Clinic. Aside from free health screenings, information will be provided for people who want to sign up for an ACA plan. Organizers say there are some things that people should bring with them to the fair if they want to sign up for insurance while there.
"We need the social security numbers for everybody who wants to apply," says Donald Naylor, who is an Outreach Worker for Greater Meridian Health Clinic. "We need any type of income information, and if you do currently have insurance you will need that current policy number."
"We're going to have a representative from the health insurance provider for Lauderdale County, and surrounding counties at the fair," says Greater Meridian Outreach Worker, Ashley Evans. "We're also going to have representatives from MCC and Mississippi State."
The health fair will be held Monday, Mar. 24 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Meridian City Hall.
