Hillbilly Run for Cystic Fibrosis

Chunky, Miss. This weekend, Lazy Acres wasn't so lazy.

For the second year in a row, hundreds turned out for the Hillbilly run. The Hillbilly Run is held at Lazy Acres in Chunky and is a 2.75 mile obsticle course, complete with mud pits, and climbing wall. All the money raised by the Hillbilly Run will go towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for CF.

Ashley Luke, mother of Maddie Luke says "There's a bunch of kids with cf and we're just trying to raise awareness." Ashley is the mother of 3 year old Maddie Luke, who was diagnosed with CF at just 2 weeks of age.

There were other ways to help this cause if running wasn't your thing. They also had a silent auction filled with lots of great items, some were already being over bid on to spite the auction just starting.

The average life expectancy of someone with CF was 17 years old, but thanks to fundraisers like this, life expectancy in the last 10 years has grown to 38.
