House Fire Results in Serious Injuries

Fire destroyed a home in Russell on Thursday morning and resulted in multiple injuries.
Lauderdale County Fire investigators say a home somehow caught fire on Highway 11 and 80 around 3 a.m. Officials say three people were inside the home at the time of the fire and that two of the individuals suffered serious burns after attempting to rescue a dog. They were transported to a burn center in Georgia.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
