A Meridian businesswoman says she's not into politics but she is into making things better for the community. Kim Houston says that's why she's running for city council.
Houston, an insurance agent, says the foundation of her campaign is that strong schools produce strong communities:
"I believe if we invest in our young people by giving them some specifics, connecting the dots with business leaders and our churches and others in this community, that we together can make a difference," said Houston.
Houston will challenge incumbent Barbara Henson. The deadline to qualify for municipal elections is Mar. 8.
