Houston Seeks Ward 4 Council Seat

Another candidate has thrown his hat into the ring to become a Meridian city councilman.

Craig Houston announced he's running for the city's Ward 4 seat, currently held by longtime councilman, Jesse Palmer, Sr. Both men are Democrats.

Craig says he's running with the intent to change things at city hall.

"I'm running because I think it's time we make some changes," said Houston. "I think we need to get our priorities straight. We need to get our finances in order. I want to address the crime problem. We've got to spend our money more wisely than what we have in the past."

Houston says one of the first things he wants to do, if elected, is get the community more involved in city government.
