Meridian, Miss. Hundreds of bikers poured into Meridian today for the 9th annual Dixie Thunder Run.

The Dixie Thunder Run is a motorcycle rally organized to raise money for the military. All of the proceeds from the event go toward "Operation First Response", which helps soldiers and their families. Dixie Thunder Run Chaplain Rob Gardner says the event has always been a success and it's very beneficial to the military.

"Oh it's huge, events like this are huge to help our military," Gardner said. "The government can only do so much. It takes civilians to get out here and pick up the slack and do more for those who serve us."

Last year, the run raised about $40,000 for the armed forces.
