About 400 runners laced up and hit the streets this morning for a good cause. The Anderson Cup Road Race is an annual event that started 31 years ago. Participants sign up for everything from a 5K to a kid's fun run or zumba in the streets. The proceeds benefit the kids in Anderson's pediatric therapy program. General Manager Adam Hodges of the health and fitness center says each year more and more people sign up to take part.
"It's growing, it's growing. The last two years, it's been very, very large. And just wonderful. Today's been just perfect. It's a beautiful day, and lots of folks from the community came out to participate," he says.
Hodges says this is also a great way to get kids acquainted with exercise from a young age.
