Imagination Library Expanding

Meridian, Miss. The United Way of East Mississippi, Phil Hardin Foundation and the Meridian Rotary Club announced the expansion of the Imagination Library program in Lauderdale County.

Previously, the program only served certain zip codes in the county. Now children throughout all of Lauderdale County are able to take part in it.

Each month a book is mailed in the child's name directly to his or her house. Pre-school children ages birth to five are eligible for the program.

"The research shows that it improves their 'successfulness' in academics as well as in life," said Deborah Parker, Lauderdale County program coordinator. "It nurtures a deeper appreciation of books and learning early."

If you would like to get your child involved in the Imagination Library program, you may get a registration form at The United Way office, 2003 23rd Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301, or download a form. A link is provided below.
