A weekend jail break in Alabama has ended in Mississippi. Robert Newman of Butler escaped from the Choctaw County jail around 7:45 Saturday night. He first stole a car from Butler, and then another vehicle from the parking lot of a Meridian restaurant. The 37-year-old was taken into custody five hours later in Hattiesburg. At the time of his escape Newman was incarcerated on a federal drug conviction. He's now facing additional charges in Alabama and Mississippi.
