Meridian, Miss. The Lauderdale County Juvenile Center suffered damage from gunfire Sunday night.
The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. The glass on the two front doors was shattered. The bullets also hit the two front courtroom doors inside the center, but caused no damage to them.
No one was inside the facility at the time of the shooting, since the center no longer houses juveniles.
Plans are being made to keep the people that work there during the day safe.
"We're taking some extra precautions now and making repairs to see what we can do to make it safer, not only for the personnel that work there, but for those that may be there for court," said Youth Court Judge Frank Coleman.
Judge Coleman says the cost of the repairs end up being a burden that falls on the citizens of Lauderdale County.
