Four juveniles have been charged in Lauderdale County in what investigators are calling an auto burglary and theft ring. And they say a fifth suspect is still on the loose.
The incidents have happened over the last two weeks, dozens in all. Authorities say the arrests were made over the course of several days.
"Going into Saturday night we had a number of auto burglaries and had five vehicles taken in that same area," said Calhoun. "Working in conjunction with the Marion Police Department, The Meridian Police Department and Sheriffs Deputies ultimately they were able to apprehend one individual early Sunday Morning in the area."
None of the names of those arrested are being released because they are charged as juveniles.
Law enforcement officials advise all to secure their property. Don't leave valuables in your car or leave it running unattended. Many instances of recent vehicle theft happened because owners left their keys in the ignition. Keep your doors, windows and garages locked.
