It was a night of recognition in Kemper County for those who have made a difference in the community.
The Kemper County Chamber of Commerce and Kemper County Economic Development Authority co-hosted a special dinner to honor those who have stood out in the community this year. Awards were handed out for business of the year, industry of the year, and citizen of the year. That is in addition to the prestigious John C. Stennis award of merit.
Avon received the business of the year award. Prime Line Catfish was awarded industry of the year. DeKalb Police Chief Stephen Jackson was named citizen of the year. Finally, Mississippi Power received the John C. Stennis award of merit.
