Kids Get Advice for Success

Meridian, Miss. The founder of Peavey Electronics talked to students Tuesday about what it takes to be successful.

Hartley Peavey addressed a group of elementary and middle school students attending Peavey Space Camp at Meridian Community College's Workforce development center.

Peavey says young people are told they can be what they want to be, but he says without developing their talent they might not be successful at it.

"I asked them to evaluate what their talents and gifts were and to go after it," said Peavey. "And then to, you know, study hard and the main thing is, don't quit, which is what most kids do."

Peavey said he tried to get the message across that success, in many cases, has nothing to do with money, but is about liking what you do.
