LCSO Seeking Tips in Murder Investigation

Lauderdale County investigators say they've received several leads about a weekend homicide, but still need the public's help for more information.

Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says 27-year-old Raphael Robert Taylor died at University Medical Center in Jackson Sunday, after being shot twice late Friday night or early Saturday morning. It happened on Earl Haney Road, off Highway 19 South.

Calhoun says investigators are waiting on results from the crime lab in Jackson, and also looking for clues leading to an arrest.

"We are still working the leads. We are still asking for the public's help," said Calhoun. "If anyone has any information, we ask that they contact the sheriff's department, or they can remain anonymous and contact Crimestoppers."

The number for Crimestoppers is 855-485-8477. Your information could lead to rewards of up to $1,000.
