LEMA Still Watching Isaac

LEMA director David Sharp says officials here are less concerned now about the impact that Isaac will have on our weather because of the storm shifting to the west.

But he says that doesn't guarantee that we are in the clear just yet. Sharp says if the storm's track shifts back in our direction, then LEMA staff members will make their way back to the EOC. Sharp admits he was expecting Isaac to be worse for our area.

"I felt like we were going to get hit pretty good out of it," Sharp says. "You know, of course all tropical storms are hard to predict. This one was probably harder than any other because it never really got its act together and formed an eyewall."

LEMA officials will continue monitoring the storm on Wednesday.
