LEO Run to Remember Saturday

Meridian, Miss.
The 2nd Annual LEO Run to Remember is Saturday, Nov. 16, in Meridian.

Runners stopped by the Soccer Locker Friday to pick up their packets. Others completed their registration.

The LEO Run to Remember helps to raise money for Alzheimer's research.

Last year the run had 258 runners participate. Already the number is close to 350.

In addition to having more people than the inaugural run, people from all over the world are converging on Meridian to participate.

"We have a variety of runners coming from all over this world," said race director, Bonnie Earley. "We have runners from Japan, Germany, India, from Canada, and of course, from all over the United States making up that 350 runners."

The race begins Saturday at 7 a.m. at the Northeast softball complex. Both the half-marathon and marathon will start and end there.
