Labor Day Robbery Reported

Updated: Tue 9:28 PM, Sep 04, 2012

The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is investigating a reported Labor Day robbery on Valley Road.

Sheriff Billy Sollie says a victim told authorities a vehicle was stopped in the road about 2:30 p.m. Monday, so she stopped as well.

The victim said three black males approached her car, one with a handgun, demanding money. She told authorities she gave them a small amount and then they fled.

"The individual brandishing the handgun never pointed it at this victim, did display the handgun," said Sollie. "Two of the suspects allegedly ran into the woods. The third suspect drove off with the vehicle. At this time we have no information to lead us to any one individual. If anyone in the community has any information concerning this, please contact Crimestoppers."

Sollie says the suspects were possibly driving a late 90s black sedan with no tag. The Crimestoppers number is 601-485-1860.
