Meridian, Mississippi Dozens of local high school students celebrated the end of their high school careers Friday night.
First Baptist Church in Meridian played host to Lamar School's graduation. There were 43 Seniors who graduated, and the Senior class is one that has received more than five million dollars in scholarship money. Head of School Leigh Ann Ballou says there are bright futures ahead for all of the graduates.
"It's exciting to be here tonight, to gather, to celebrate all of their hard work and their dedication," said Ballou. "Because they've spent many hours, many hours in the classroom. Our faculty has worked hard to see that they could reach this accomplishment."
