Lauderdale County Hosts Reading Fair

Lauderdale County, Miss. Lauderdale County students competed in a county-wide reading fair Monday. Northeast Middle School hosted the event.

Almost 170 projects that won either first, second, or third place in their respective categories from each school were on display.

Judges evaluated each project to determine who will represent Lauderdale County in the regional competition.

"The first place winner in each division will advance on to the regional competition," said coordinator Lisa Hull. "And from the regional competition it will be the state competition. There's a quote from Dr. Seuss that says 'the more you read, the more you know; the more you know, the more places you will go'."

This is the fifteenth year Lauderdale County has held a reading fair competition. In the past they have produced state winners.
