Lauderdale County, Miss. It was on Myers Road in Lauderdale County where Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says one man was shot to death by his uncle. Calhoun tells us this occurred about 9:30 Saturday morning when he says an argument between the two men got out of hand.

"A 911 call came in indicating that a black male had been shot on Myers Road in Lauderdale," Calhoun said. "Deputies responded, while on the scene a suspect was taken into custody."

Calhoun says at this time, investigation has revealed that 51 year old Robert Hill Jr. shot his nephew, who we are told is 33 year old Marcus Hill once in the chest over a dispute that involved money.

"When deputies responded to the scene Robert Hill Jr. was taken into custody at that time," Calhoun said. "He is the uncle of the victim Marcus Hill, a handgun was also recovered at the scene."

Police say Robert Hill Jr. was allegedly angry when he confronted his nephew over, what we are told was possibly one hundred dollars.

"It ended up in several shots fired, one shot hit Marcus Hill in the chest," Calhoun said. "The investigation is still ongoing and this investigation and all the evidence we have will be presented to the next available grand jury

Robert Hill Jr. has been set at $100,000 for that murder charge. At this time, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is not anticipating any future charges in this case.
