A training course is coming up this week that involves our local law enforcement.

The course is being hosted by the Meridian Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, the Department of Justice, and other agencies.

It will focus on evidence and search and seizure.

MPD spokesman Mike Vick says a big turnout is expected for the class.

"There will be a good many regional law enforcement officers, and others there," says Vick, "they do these things all over the state and we're really proud to have them here."

The course starts Tuesday at 12 PM at the MCC Workforce Development Center on highway 19 north, and it runs through Wednesday.
