Future and current leaders in the Kemper County area came together to learn about education through a program called Leadership Kemper.
Leadership Kemper was started four years ago as a way for community members to discover leadership styles and educate themselves on government, health and education issues. Tuesday's luncheon at East Mississippi Community College focused on education with speakers from both local schools and colleges.
"It gives us an opportunity to meet with educators on the local and also on the state level to learn about what kind of education problems are within the state of Mississippi," says Leadership Kemper member Rontal Jenkins.
Jenkins says the group gained knowledge on prominent issues in education, and they look forward to being able to share their insight with the community.
