Meridian, Mississippi More than 30 community leaders graduated this morning from the "Leadership Lauderdale" program. The EMBDC hosted the graduation ceremony at "Business Before Hours" for the Spring 2014 class of Leadership Lauderdale. The participants have worked together, focusing on the principles of the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," while they learned about developing and completing community service projects. The guest speaker, Andre' Heath, encouraged not only the graduating leaders, but all leaders.
"As leaders its important for us to find our passion, and if our passion causes us to act, we must be bothered, theres something that disturbs us," said Heath. "There's something that causes us to move instead of just talk about the problems, so my message is one of encouraging leaders to act, to move, to be bothered, disturbed by the plight of our community so things can be better for everyone."
The next Leadership Lauderdale Class gets started in the Fall.
