Locals Continue to Process School Shooting

People across our area are still in shock and disbelief following a school shooting that killed 26 people.

Authorities in Newtown, Connecticut say that 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 children and 6 adults during Friday morning's shooting at an elementary school.

Newscenter 11 talked to locals on Saturday about how they are making sense of such a senseless tragedy.

"My heart goes out, my heart goes out to every individual that was involved, the kids that were killed, and the man that did the shooting as well," Labrandy Moore said.

"I lost my son in 2007 to a tragic accident," Mary Johnson said. "He fell asleep at the wheel on the way back to his job. So I know how all those parents feel. I know what they're going through."

Authorities say they are still working to determine a motive in the shooting.
