Locals Participate in Trash Pick Up

Meridian Mainstreet held its bi-annual downtown clean up.

Groups of kids were there to help with the clean up and to support the city of Meridian's fall clean sweep. Duffee Williams says a clean city is a better city.

"This is a project that we do twice a year at the clean up downtown Meridian," Meridian Mainstreet's Duffee Williams says. "Any time you have a clean city, you have a better city. We want to attract people downtown, we want downtown to be attractive to shoppers, to visitors."

John McClure with Meridian Mainstreet says a group of students who have finished their basic training in the Navy also devoted their time for the downtown clean up.
