MAEC Opens Downtown Office

Meridian, Miss.
The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center has new permanent offices in downtown Meridian.

MAEC executive director Marty Gamblin says fundraising is ongoing for the $44 million facility that will honor the state's rich entertainment heritage. He said it's firing on all cylinders.

"We're right on track, actually above where we thought we would be at this time," MAEC executive director Marty Gamblin. "And we've got an announcement coming soon, as they say, hopefully this month. But everything's really going great; we're excited."

There will be an official ribbon cutting for the new office on Front Street later this month. It's just across from the building site for the center. The Arts and Entertainment center is set to open in 2017.
