MCC, MHA Encourage Higher Education

Meridian, Miss. Meridian Housing Authority in a partnership with Meridian Community College hosted its first-ever Holiday Education Fair Thursday.

They were looking for ten students from all the MHA units to sign up so classes could be created at the Frank Berry Community Center. They hope to start an English class, a social science class, or a math class.

"The importance of this building is not only because it is a building that is under-utilized, but it's beautiful," said MCC's college recruiter, Adrian Cross. "But this is the exact location that the classes will be held for the Meridian Community College and Meridian Housing Authority partnership."

MCC is providing book scholarships and other financial aid to the housing authority residents who enroll, and are in need, as part of the partnership.
