MCC, Public Schools Approve Dual Enrollment

Meridian, Miss.
Officials from Meridian Community College, Meridian Public Schools and Lauderdale County Schools have signed a memorandum of understanding for a dual enrollment program.

The program enables students to get a head start on a college education by earning college credits while they are still attending high school.

MCC has extended dual enrollment to include career and technical education. The program has taken off recently.

"It's a win-win-win," said Dr. Scott Elliott, president of MCC. "A win for the students, a win for Meridian Community College, and a win for the parents who, quite frankly, can save a lot of money by their students getting a head start on their college education."

Any student may take part in the program, but they must meet certain qualifications first.
