MCC Sets New Graduation Record

Meridian Community College has set a new record for the number of students graduating with degrees.

Evangel Temple on Highway 145 was filled to capacity on Friday evening so friends and family could witness more than 550 graduates taking the stage. The ceremony comes as Meridian Community College is celebrating 75 years of educating people from across the area. MCC encourages all of its graduates to be leaders in their community and to take time to give back. School officials say they are already hoping for another record graduating class next year.

"Well, as a result of our ongoing graduation promotion campaign, we have students who meet with advisors on a regular basis to make sure that students are constantly on track to graduate," according to Dean of Student Services, Soraya Welden. "Graduation is very important."

MCC offers various two-year degrees in technology, healthcare, and business.
