Jackson, Miss.

The Mississippi Development Authority will lead a delegation of Mississippi companies on a business development mission to South America April 24-29.

MDA officials say the trip will include stops in Paraguay and Uruguay, with optional stops in Brazil or Chile if companies have business prospects in either country.

Skip Scaggs, director of MDA's Existing Industry and Business Division, says the trip is designed to connect Mississippi businesses that want to expand trade and create new business relationships in South America.

The Small Business Administration-funded Mississippi State Trade Export Promotion program reimburses eligible businesses up to 50 percent of their travel costs and provides interpretation services.

The deadline to register is Feb. 7.
