Meridian police say they arrested a local man late Tuesday night after responding to a disturbance call.
The MPD says officers were notified around 11 p.m. about an altercation involving a female armed with a knife at a residence in the 300 block of 57th Avenue.
Police say they were assaulted by one subject as they attempted to arrest another.
The department says 35-year-old Cedric Garbutt is charged with assaulting an officer. His bond was set at $50,000. The MPD says the officer has since returned to active duty.
