The victim's sister tells Newscenter 11 that her brother was walking on a street near Highway Village when a man tried rob him. Brittany King says the suspect, wearing a red bandana, shot her brother in the stomach after he told the robber he had nothing to give him. This is the second time this year that King says her brother has been shot.
"It's too much going on out here," King feels. "These communities, they need to get together, stop the crime. Too many robberies and just people shooting and things and it needs to be a better community. People need to get together and handle they business."
King says her brother did not know the suspect prior to the shooting. The MPD says the victim is not cooperating with police about the incident.
