Meridian, Miss. Meridian police say officers responded to a call about a shooting Sunday just before midnight in the 6200 block of Oakland Heights Street.
Authorities say they found a vehicle had been struck by bullets and a man inside who was injured by the gunfire.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not available.
Police say they are investigating the incident.
A separate shooting was reported Friday night just after midnight.
Meridian police say they responded to a hospital where a man reported he had been shot in the arm while walking in the 1600 block of 25th Avenue. The wound was not life- threatening.
Police say they do not have a good description of the suspect, only that he was a black male who was also on foot.
