MPD Says Progress Made in Homicide Investigation


Meridian, Miss. Meridian police say they have made some progress in the investigation of a recent murder case.

One man was shot to death late Friday night (June 20), and two others were injured, after a carjacking on 21st Court.

Two victims were taken to a local hospital and officers later found the stolen truck on 12th Street with a third victim inside, shot to death.

Detective Dareall Thompson says some progress has been made in the investigation.

"At this time, we do have two people of interest," said Thompson. "And later we'll probably have some warrants on the two subjects, but at this time, we're trying to come up with them, bring them in and question them."
