MSO Hosts Film Screening Fundraiser

Updated: Sat 11:20 PM, Jan 26, 2013

An academy award winning film lit up the screen at the Temple Theater on Saturday night as part of a local fundraising effort.

The Meridian Symphony Orchestra hosted the screening of "The Artist," which takes place in the 1930s in Hollywood and focuses on the relationship of an aging silent film star and a rising young actress. Saturday's event was part of the symphony's Club 1930 fundraiser.

"It's not enough that we've just been around for fifty plus years," Kay O'Shaughnessy with MSO Association Incorporated says. "We still have to have the financial resources to continue to put on the high quality music that we want of our community have."

Dinner was served prior to the screening. All proceeds go to the MSO.
