MSO Names New Music Director

The Meridian Symphony Orchestra announced its new music director.

MSO officials introduced Maestro Peter Rubardt Thursday at the MSU Riley Center,

Rubardt, a graduate of the Julliard School, comes from Pensacola where he served as the music director and conductor of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra.

Rubardt said he looks forward to an enriching experience for all:

"The moment I stood in front of the orchestra last December and had a chance to meet all of the people who work with the orchestra and live in this community," said Rubardt. "I felt like this was the place that I'd love to spend some time and share some music."

Rubardt has also served as conductor of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
