Tuscaloosa, Ala. A driver has been charged with murder in the shooting death of 40-year-old man on Interstate 59 in Tuscaloosa.

Police Sgt. Dale Phillips said the shooting happened Thursday. Witnesses reported that two men revved their engines in what appeared to be a race. It ended in a crash.

Authorities said 37-year-old Roderick Washington Jr. got out of his car and fatally shot Frederick Blakely. WBMA-TV reports that police still do not have a motive for the shooting.

Washington was ordered held in jail without bond. It was unclear whether he had a defense attorney.
