Man Sentenced for Theft of Explosives

Lance Daniel Looney, 26, of Stonewall, was sentenced Tuesday to 84 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for his role in the theft of military ordnance from Camp Shelby's impact ranges.

U. S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis says Looney was also ordered to pay a fine of $10,000.

The case was investigated by the Gulfport Police, the Biloxi Bomb Squad, U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The investigation began after an explosion Jan. 19, 2012. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams.
