Jackson, Miss.

The man who was being sought during a raid when a state agent was shot has surrendered to Jackson police.

Lucious Perkins, 33, turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.
He was wanted in the Nov. 17 killing of a Jackson man.

A Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics officer was shot Tuesday morning while trying to serve a murder warrant for Perkins. The agent was treated and released from a hospital after a bullet grazed his abdomen.

The agent, whose name was not released, was assigned to a U.S. Marshals Service task force.

Police say the agent was shot by 38-year-old Arturo Rodriguez, who was grazed in the head when the agent returned fire.

Neighbors say some residents of the raided house don't speak English well. Three men were questioned about their immigration status.
