Marshall Tucker Band to Headline Festival

Meridian, Miss.
The lineup for the 3rd Annual 59Twenty Music Festival was announced Wednesday.

The Marshall Tucker Band will headline the concert
Mar. 29. Other bands performing include Surviving Allison, Rosco Bandana, and Nelo.

Two local bands will perform and will be announced at a later date.

Based on feedback, the concert has been moved to the lawn in front of Meridian City Hall.

Organizers say this is the best lineup yet and they're expecting the festival to continue to grow.

"I think the festival has matured a lot," said Aaron Brooks of the Young Professionals of Meridian. "I'm not from Meridian, but when I got here, I saw how much potential it had. And one of the most important things about the festival is that it promotes the area. It promotes local and national music, and it has a fantastic charity that benefits from it."

Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 the day of the show. They may be purchased at Harry Mayer, Meridian Underground Music and the EMBDC office.
