Meridian, Miss. Newscenter 11 has learned that prominent Meridian attorney and former judge Henry Palmer has died.
The former district attorney and circuit judge died just after 7:30 Wednesday evening, according to Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler. Cobler says Palmer collapsed in a Meridian courtroom on Wednesday and was taken to UMC in Jackson, where he died. Cobler says Palmer suffered an aortic aneurysm.
Palmer was currently serving as the attorney for Meridian's Civil Service Commission and the Lauderdale County Tourism Commission, as well as retaining a private practice.
Palmer was 66 years old.
