Meridian, Miss. A large crowd gathered in downtown Meridian Monday for the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Parade.
Some people arrived as much as an hour early to grab a good spot to see the festivities.
The theme this year was Remembering Today the Dreamers of Yesterday.
Jackson State University's Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band returned to Meridian as a featured attraction. The Meridian High School Band also participated in this year's parade.
The parade route was changed to progress from its start on 25th Avenue to 5th Street, Meridian's historic African-American Business District, and ended at city hall.
